I am an apprentice-trained electro-mechanical design and development engineer. Before retiring, I was the managing director of a medium-sized engineering company for 11 years.
Being outdoors and in nature has always been important to me. I have walked extensively and cycled over 150,000 miles in the UK.
My first camera, an East German Beirette, was bought with money earned from a paper round. Since then, I have always taken pictures.
However, it was not until 1990 that I became engrossed in photography. It took some time to transition from obsessing over expensive camera equipment to focusing on my creative process. Seeking inspiration from other creative people, and planning and executing my projects is how I enjoy spending time.
